Bye-Election Candidate Niall Murphy

I have worked as a software engineer for multinationals and medical device companies in Galway for the past thirty years. I currently work for Cisco Systems. I live in Salthill with my wife Una. Our three children are in their early twenties now, and I see all the life challenges faced by a new generation. From 2020 to 2024 I served as a Galway City Councillor and as a board member of Leisureland and on the board of the University of Galway. Outside of politics I am a runner and swimmer, and I have organised many cycling and running events in the city. Ten years as a hurling coach for underage teams has given me insight into the sports infrastructure needs for Galway.
